We hold fast to the authority of the Scriptures. The sixty-six books comprising the Old and New Testaments are the inspired and complete Word of God. The Scriptures are of supreme authority in faith and life. According to 2 Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man (and woman) of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” As such, we affirm the following:
We believe in one God eternally existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is true God and true man. He was crucified for us and for our salvation under Pontius Pilate. He suffered, died and was buried. On the third day He rose again, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of the Father where He intercedes for us as High Priest and Advocate. He shall come again in glory, to judge the living and the dead.
We believe humankind was created in the image of God; created for fellowship with God and in the Garden of Eden had unhindered access to God. Given the choice Adam and Eve chose disobedience to God. Sin lead to separation from God (death). To this day people reflect the propensity toward sin that separates us from fellowship with God.
We believe that salvation comes only through faith in Jesus Christ alone and His finished work on the cross. All who turn by faith to the Lord Jesus Christ are born again of the Holy Spirit and become children of God, indwelled and sealed by the Holy Spirit, and are preserved unto the day of redemption. There is salvation in no other.
We believe Jesus will return personally and visibly to judge the living and the dead; the righteous for reward and the unrighteous for condemnation. The fact of Christ’s imminent return encourages believers to live godly lives. Although the return of Christ can take place at any time, the Scriptures clearly teach that no one can identify the time of his return.
We believe that all the saved are called unto a life of separation from all worldly and sinful practices and are called to proclaim the gospel in life and example.
